Prayerful support .... The Synod is now session in Rome from October 4 to October 29. Members of the Synod, ordained and lay, women and men, will be prayerfully considering reports from around the world on what they believed the Holy Spirit is saying to the Church today. These sessions are not to be debates as we might see in Congress with one person or side trying to win support for their point of view or plan. These sessions are focused on listening to what the Spirit is saying to each person there. Ignatius called this kind of listening "discernment of spirits."
